Kôzai
The Association for Local History and Topography of Kôzai, Sanuki, Japan (ALHiToK) was founded on 15 March 2021.
In what is now Kozai, Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, rises the small, but 364m high Mount Katsuga, which is topped by the ruins of Katsuga Castle, a medieval mountain castle. The mountain has a bowl-like shape, typical of the Sanuki region, but in reality the gradient becomes much steeper towards the top and a small plateau spreads out on top. At the foot of the mountain is a natural harbour which has been a centre of fishing and trading for well over a thousand years. It is no exaggeration to say that this unique geographical space forms its own Living Spaces. But it is not an isolated Living Space. Birds fly in and out, migratory birds fly in and out, and pelagic sea breams come in flocks from the Pacific Ocean through the Naruto Strait to lay their eggs. Many goods were brought to Takamatsu via this port until the beginning of the Meiji period. We have decided to set up this group so that those of us who live here can always experience this time and space, and also so that those who do not live here can share in its value. 「讃岐香西史誌研究会」 [Association for Local History and Topography of Kôzai, Sanuki, Japan, ALHiToK] を発足しました。2021年3月15日
現在の香川県高松市香西には、中世の山城である勝賀城跡を頂きに有する標高364mの勝賀山が小さいとはいえ聳えています。讃岐の国特有のお椀のような山ですが、実際は頂上に行くにつけ勾配はかなり急になり、その上に小さな台地が広がっています。さらに麓には天然の良港が漁業そして交易の中心地として、一千年をはるかに超える歴史を有しています。その独特の地理的空間は独自のLiving Spaces（生命空間）を形成していると言っても過言ではありません。しかし、孤立した生命空間ではありません。鳥は飛び交い、渡鳥は飛来し、遠洋を泳ぐ鯛は太平洋から鳴門海峡を通って、産卵のために一群揃ってやってきます。多くの物品も明治の初めまではこの港を経由して高松に運ばれて来ました。ここに住む者にとってはその時空間を常に体感できるようにも思いますし、ここに住んでいない方々にもその価値が共有できるように、本研究会を立ち上げることにしました。本研究会は、香川大学地球ディベロプメントサイエンス国際コンソーシアムの支援の下に運営しております。本会の規約[Bylaws_20210315]もダウンロードできるようにしております。[]内をクリックしてください。今後徐々にこのサイトを充実させていく予定です。
